Napkin math indicates the economic impact at almost $2.5 million dollars in sales.
Even for a company like Activision-Blizzard, that is not pocket change. It also, incidentally, cuts a lot of the margin out from under the game. Which means the game may end up not being profitable, which would probably kill the next iteration for IW. It could be the end of the series if the number of petitions keeps climbing and we're looking at a significant chunk of change ($10 mil neighborhood). ![]()

I completely agree, i can't believe they would sink this low. I hate matchmaking configurations, it is not meant for PC.

Add the 17th. Every member in the unit canceled their pre order today. I have went on to send messages onwards to anyone I know that plays COD.
The only way to get anything done is action. If IW wants to make money with pc games they have to include us in the thought process. As simple as that. Its funny to think how pissed everyone was when we thought it was going to be a simple add on to mw1. Now look what we got! I have been sick all day thinking about this. ![]() ![]() Cpt. Here's something interesting I found looking over some gaming forums. Here is what the lead developer at DICE and Battlefield 1943 said about IW's no dedicated support.
http://kotaku.com/5384290/dice-makes-hay...ontroversy Well, didn't say much except for saying its fundamental. Still though, there's support from other developers. ![]()

Add the 4th Infantry Division to the list as well.
I was kind of hoping this was all speculation/rumor, but after digging as deep as my heart would let me... this is a lost cause. Infinity Ward has sold out, they care more about perceived profit than their loyal fan base. They obviously don't realize the only reason MW is still going is because of the ongoing efforts of the PC community of clans and modders who tailor the game to their liking, TR and RNG both (though I would imagine almost everyone here occasionally and/or 'accidentally' slips onto a non-TR server ). Also, I don't see how their "matching" could work without dedicated servers... as most ISPs state in your service contract that you can't run a server and besides that no Cable/DSL modem upload is enough to handle more than a 4-6 player load... a far cry from what most of us are used to. As a PC TR gamer, I find this beyond reproach and can only hope that IW wakes up from the drunken stupor they seem to be in or I will help mod MW in every way possible to prevent them from profiting on MW2. |

IW spent alot of money into making this game work on the PC with their matchmaking. THey had to set up servers all across the world, create a working website like that of Xbox live and have the working software.
If even half of the speculated PC buyers dont buy the game THIS WILL HURT IW! Lets send a message to all Developers that PC gamers will not support this! |
